Language and culture

Language: Baghutia is a densely populated area of Chauhali Upazila of Sirajganj. Most of the people in the area generally speak Bengali. Apart from Bengali, many are proficient in English, Arabic and Urdu.



Culture: Although Sirajganj is connected to Sadar Upazila city, most of the area is classified as a hilly area surrounded by the river as it is adjacent to the Yamuna river. The history and culture of the people of this area is very rich. Most of the area is dependent on agriculture to improve the standard of living of the people. Besides, they earn their livelihood by working in jobs, trade, textile industry, fishing, etc. The people of the area are very active in practicing the folk culture of rural Bengal. Among these, Jari, Sari, Bhatiali, Lalangiti etc. are notable.
